3,000 Indians to be Offered Visas, Jobs Under UK-India Young Professionals Scheme

Rishi Sunak, the British Prime Minister, is ready to announce a new

"relationship" with India. Following his meeting with Prime Minister

Narendra Modi, Rishi Sunak approved 3,000 visas for degree-holding Indians

to work in the United Kingdom. Under the UK-India Young Professionals

Scheme, the UK would give up to two years of employment to 3,000 young

professionals from India aged 18 to 30.

The initiative will function on a reciprocal basis between the two countries

beginning in early 2023. This announcement was made in a Downing Street

statement after Sunak's meeting with PM Modi on the grounds of the 17th G20

Summit. This was their first meeting since Rishi Sunak was appointed last

month.

According to the British government, the strong UK-India Migration and

Mobility Alliance, which was put in place last year, claims that India is the first

visa-national country to stand to profit from the partnership. Sunak suggested a

bilateral interaction with India during his prime ministerial candidacy.
